5. Retail CIL Map

CIL Indexed Rate Summary

To find the Council’s CIL CHARGING ZONE for your retail development: Type in either the first line or postcode of your development into the Address box on the Map below to pinpoint its exact location within the District. Then noting the colour/type of shading given at this location, check the appropriate zone in the Map Legend for this shading:

  • if shown as £0 then no CIL will be chargeable for this retail development), 
  • However, If shown located within the £84 charging zone, then as it is mandatory in the CIL Regulations that the CIL Index (produced by RICS) is applied to this zone rate on 1st Jan each year, to find the current CIL INDEXED RATE for this development  click on the relevant link below for the year that the planning application was granted/decided and refer to the row showing this CIL charging rate for your development. For a development approved during 2026, for example, the '2026 CIL Indexed Rate' link below shows the CIL rate for retail as £100.90 per square metre for the £84 charging zone.
