26. What if I have not told you that my property is a second home?
If you are responsible for more than one property, only one can be classed as your sole or main residence. Any other property will be classed as your second home.
If you do not correctly declare that your property in East Devon is your second home, this can be classed as fraud and East Devon District Council may take court action or impose a penalty against you, as well as billing you for the Council Tax that you should have paid.
