7. Preparing to start work on site
What you will need to do (including a builder, architect or agent acting for you)
You must ensure that we have fully registered your application before work starts on site.
If you are constructing a new dwelling, there is certain information which is required to be submitted prior to the work starting on site such as SAP calculations.
You must provide written confirmation of your Principal Designer and Principal Contractor, including signatures from the people/organisations that are taking on those roles before the work starts on site. Please use our Assign a Dutyholder form to provide the details of your Principal Designer and Principal Contractor.
You must give us 2 working days notification that work is due to start. You can email this notification to us at buildingcontrol@eastdevon.gov.uk
