InformationHeritage Strategy 2024-2042 Public Consultation
The Heritage Strategy consultation ran for six weeks between 28th November until 9am on the 26th January 2026.
This public consultation was conducted to gather views on the issues, themes and actions identified within the second Heritage Strategy, and for the public to let us know whether they felt there were any other ways to protect and enhance East Devon's historic environment.
The feedback gathered will be used to shape the Heritage Strategy, with a feedback report being completed following the conclusion of the consultation and amendments being made to the final Heritage Strategy 2024-2042.
Comments were received on the Heritage Strategy 2024-2042.
What is the Heritage Strategy?
The second Heritage Strategy (2024-2042) is a summary of our heritage, its significance and its benefits whilst developing objectives for the future, with an action plan for the delivery of our recommendations. The strategy outlines 3 core themes: Understanding and appreciating our historic environment, positively managing our historic environment, and Enhancing and benefiting from our heritage, followed by a plan for implementation and monitoring of these themes, with an action plan on how to achieve them. It is a light touch review of the original strategy adopted by the council in 2019 following a round of public consultation.
