Our local climate policy is guided by East Devon District Council's Climate Strategy and Action Plan, which outlines the steps we are taking to reduce emissions and adapt to climate change impacts. Alongside this, we are committed to working through partnerships and collaborations with local businesses, communities, and other organisations. By working together, we aim to create a sustainable, low-carbon future for East Devon, ensuring our actions align with both local needs and national climate goals.

Our vision is to become a carbon neutral council by 2040, working within a low carbon economy and lifestyle. This will be reflected in our travel, homes, businesses, visitor experiences and communities.

East Devon District Council's Climate Strategy and Action Plan sets out our commitment to tackling climate change. It outlines key actions for reducing carbon emissions, enhancing sustainability, and adapting to environmental challenges. This plan serves as our roadmap, guiding our efforts to create a low-carbon future for East Devon.

The EDDC Climate Change Strategy outlines our guiding principles for climate action, how we will address our key priorities and how we will measure our progress over the lifetime of the strategy. The strategy is currently under review and will be published later this year.

The EDDC Action Plan sets out the individual actions we intent to carry out across different services to help tackle climate change. The action plan is currently under review and will be published later this year.

Our approach to tackling climate change in East Devon utilises strong partnerships and collaborations. By working with local businesses, communities, and other organisations, we can share resources, knowledge, and expertise, ensuring a unified effort to create a sustainable, low-carbon future for the district and beyond.
