StartSmart is a new business support programme for entrepreneurs and start-up businesses across East Devon. 

StartSmart provides a flexible menu of support. Participants can pick and choose which elements of support they require depending on their needs. The programme includes:

• Small business grants to support early development costs
• One-to-one mentoring in partnership with the University of Exeter
• Specialist support with developing business plans and training workshops to build confidence and essential business skills (register your interest here Expression of Interest - Business Support)
• Affordable workspace opportunities to help businesses grow (coming later)

The programme is designed to support both aspiring entrepreneurs and early-stage businesses as they take their next steps, helping to deliver on our Economic Development Strategy.

StartSmart is aimed at:

• Aspiring entrepreneurs preparing to start a business
• Startups and early-stage businesses (up to three years old)
• East Devon residents looking to turn an idea into a viable business
