I have an issue with my central heating system

Before you report a broken central heating system, please check these things first:

  • Is the time clock set correctly? (Check when clocks change for summer or winter.)
  • Is the boiler switched on?
  • Is the pilot light on?
  • Does the boiler display show a fault code?
  • If you can, check the boiler has pressure.
  • Is the room thermostat or radiator valve set high enough? (Turn it right up – if the heating comes on, adjust to the temperature you want.)
  • If you have a wireless thermostat, do the batteries need changing?
  • If you use a key or card meter, do you have enough credit for gas or electricity?

If we visit your home and find that one of the things listed above caused the problem, you might have to pay for the visit.
