Green fingers at the ready as we announce the 2026 Tenant Garden Competition!

Whether you have a glorious garden, a productive veg patch or some pretty pots it’s time to enter for your chance to win a prize in our Tenant Garden Competition.

There are 9 categories with the overall winner receiving £100!

The closing date for entries is Monday 22nd June 2026 and judging will take place in the week of 6^th July 2026

Competition Categories –

Back garden
Front garden
Containers and hanging baskets
Communal and friends together
Eco or wildlife garden
Produce garden
Garden designed and maintained by a tenant with a disability
Garden designed and maintained by a young person 16 or under
First time entrant

The judges might move your entry to a different category if they think it fits better.

To enter call or email the Communities team 01395 517 453, tenantsandcommunities@eastdevon.gov.uk with your name, address and the categories you would like to enter or talk to your MSO.

Top tips

If you buy large plastic trays of eggs with lids you can use them as mini greenhouses for starting seedlings - Alison Page, Exmouth

Seed Swap

If you have seeds or cuttings to spare bring them along to the Garden Party in September where we will be arranging a seed swap to help keep the cost of gardening down. It will also be a chance to chat to the other gardeners and receive prizes and certificates.
