7. What are the charges?
Sampling visits are £85 per visit. The cost of sample analysis is charged depending on the type of analysis.
The Risk Assessment fee is £306. The cost of sample analysis is charged depending on the type of analysis.
Investigations are charged at £100 (minimum) plus £25 per hour and analysis fees.
Where a pre-arranged visit cannot be carried out a charge of £85 will be made if:
- the customer(s) has not attended, or
- has not arranged a suitable person to attend, or
- cancellation of the visit is not received within 24 hours prior to the arranged visit
The Council has discretion to vary the fee arrangements on a case-by-case basis.
All fees will be reviewed on an annual basis.
Sample Analysis Fees
These fees are set by our accredited laboratory for the analysis of water samples on an annual basis and come into effect on 1 October each year. A full list of sample analysis fees can be obtained on request from environmentalhealth@eastdevon.gov.uk. Sampling is based on the risk of each source and invoiced accordingly.
The prices on the table below apply from the 1st April 2026.
