InformationPublic Spaces Protection Order Full Review

East Devon District Council has three existing Public Spaces Protection Orders which apply across the district. These include a Dog Control PSPO, Seashores and Promenades PSPO, and Control of Anti-Social Behaviour & the Consumption of Intoxicating Substances in Exmouth PSPO.

Some of the requirements within each PSPO apply to the district as a whole, and some to specific areas such as children’s play areas and beaches.

You can view the proposed changes to the three Public Spaces Protection Orders below

The Control of Anti-Social Behaviour and the Consumption of Intoxicating Substances

We are required to review each PSPO every three years and during this process we considered some changes. This was done in 2025 when a full review consultation ran from the 3rd of March to the 28th of April. We are now in the processing of collating and analysing all of the responses that we received. Report of the results status

Following the public consultation in respect of the 2026 Public Spaces Protection Orders, a report of the results has been produced. The 2026 PSPO Report was presented to Overview Committee on Monday 30 September at 6.00pm in the Council Chamber at Blackdown House, Border Road, Honiton EX14 1EJ.

Your views have directly informed the recommendations being put forward, and the meeting was an important stage in the decision-making process.
