Crisis and Resilience Fund (CaRF)

The Crisis and Resilience Fund (CaRF) is funding made available by the Department for Work and Pensions for local authorities in England, to support low-income households who encounter a financial shock and to support activity that builds individual and community financial resilience. This fund will cover the period 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027. 

 

Support available may include help towards the costs of food, energy, heating oil, housing and other essential items etc. Applicants will be required to have a telephone interview with an officer to discuss the type and amount of any award.

To be eligible for the fund applicants must:

 

1. Be 16 years or over; and

2. Live within boundaries of East Devon District Council (as their main residence); and

3. Express and/or evidence that they are on a low income and facing an unexpected financial shock and need financial crisis support and/or that financial resilience (wraparound) support would be beneficial

4. Be identified from existing data sets and/or via an application process, as meeting the eligibility criteria
